Dealing with acnes is, without a doubt, harder than what most people think. It doesn’t matter if your acne is severe or mild, the discomfort of it just sitting there, irritating your skin alone can be a pain to deal with. Apart from this, you also have to deal with people staring at it when they talk to you, along with all those “myfriend’s-sister’s-daughter’s-aunt’s-grandchild had really bad acne! She got rid of it over night by just…” kind of advice as well; usually from people who’ve never had to deal with acne personally.
But acne can be more than irritating, and can affect more thansimply your looks. For most people, having to deal with acne is a major blow to their self-esteem and self-confidence. If you’re tired of dealing with acne, or tired of trying on over-the-counter products that others have advised you to use, then perhaps it’s time to do something new. Here are a few of our experts’ advice on curing acne, in the long run.
Take it to the doctor.
Acne, like most other things, come in various forms. This means that in order to deal with it properly, you need to identify what’s causing you to break out. This also means a trip to the doctor is required. Yes, dermatologists are insanely expensive in most countries. And this is probably why most people go to them as last resort. But it’s important that you make at least one visit to the dermatologist, as it’s the best way to figure out what “kind of” acne you have.
Ask your beautician for advice.
If you’ve already tried taking it to the doctor, and have had no positive change, then take it to the next expert, the beauticians. Most (qualified) beauticians now-a-days are quite experienced in knowing just how to treat acne. Depending on the severity of your acne and what is causing it, they might advise anything from a series of facials to even a special laser facial. Do be cautious, as not all treatments may suit your skin and acne.
Try out the cliché advice.
Is a laser facial or dermatologist’s appointment a little too expensive for your budget at the moment? Are you willing to wait for slow yet steady results? If you are then it’s time to change your life style just a little bit. In most cases, your daily routine and things you do in it can be the reason for your breaking out. The common things are; not having enough water, not getting enough sleep, not getting enough exercise and even not being happy in general. If you feel one of this could be the reason for your acne, work on correcting it.
Apart from this, the best thing you can do is to try and forget about it. Trust us, worrying and stressing about it is not helping you cure acne in any way…!
